After high winds
crowds gather
to assess the damage
done;
in a sense making meaning fumbling:
for a moment reminded
of their insignificance.
Afraid to admit afraid
afraid that each day lived
small helpless
truth distracted
their last,
afraid the earths breath rage
their snuffing out.
Let the earth do what it will:
Let the winds come:
Let them blow down what we have
built created,
all the while us
trembling.
